NBA: Knicks lose game, Jalen Brunson to injury vs. Kings

DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine led the Sacramento Kings to a season-best third straight win, while standout performances from Donovan Mitchell, Jamal Murray, and Nikola Vucevic powered Cleveland, Denver, and Chicago to key victories. Meanwhile, the Raptors, Pelicans, and Clippers also secured wins in tight contests, keeping their momentum rolling.

DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points and Zach LaVine added 25 as the Sacramento Kings posted their season-best third straight win, defeating the visiting New York Knicks 112-101 on Wednesday night.


Precious Achiuwa had 20 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, while Russell Westbrook contributed 19 points and 11 assists for the Kings. Maxime Raynaud added 10 points.


New York star guard Jalen Brunson left the game early after injuring his right ankle just over four minutes into the contest. He had four points before exiting, ending his streak of 18 consecutive 20-point games. Mikal Bridges led the Knicks with 19 points, and OG Anunoby added 15. The loss marked New York’s sixth defeat in eight games and was the first visit to Sacramento for Knicks coach Mike Brown since being fired as Kings coach in December 2024.


Cavaliers 133, 76ers 107


Donovan Mitchell scored 27 of his 35 points in the second half and added nine assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers past Philadelphia.


Darius Garland contributed 20 points and seven assists before leaving late in the third quarter with a foot injury. Evan Mobley recorded 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks. Cleveland will return to Philadelphia on Friday.


Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 20 points, while Paul George added 17. Philadelphia’s starting guards, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, combined for just 23 points on 8-of-26 shooting.


Nuggets 118, Mavericks 109


Jamal Murray scored 33 points as the Denver Nuggets overcame host Dallas to secure their third straight win. Aaron Gordon added 22 points, and Peyton Watson had 18 for the short-handed Nuggets.


Naji Marshall led the Mavericks with 24 points, and Brandon Williams added 20. Dallas played without Cooper Flagg in the second half after he sprained his left ankle.


Bulls 128, Jazz 126


Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 35 points, including the go-ahead layup with four seconds left, helping the Chicago Bulls edge past Utah. Jalen Smith contributed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.


Utah’s Brice Sensabaugh set a career-best with 43 points off the bench, while Keyonte George scored 25, including an 8-0 run late in regulation. Tre Jones assisted on Vucevic’s game-winning layup following an Isaac Okoro offensive rebound.


Raptors 115, Pacers 101


Toronto rallied from a 27-point second-quarter deficit to claim a win in Indianapolis. Brandon Ingram scored a game-high 30 points with seven rebounds, while Scottie Barnes added 26 points, 13 assists, and seven rebounds. The Raptors have won seven of their last 10 games.


Pascal Siakam recovered from a slow start to finish with 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Pacers.


Pelicans 116, Nets 113


Trey Murphy III scored a game-high 34 points, and Saddiq Bey made crucial plays in the final minute to lead New Orleans past Brooklyn. Zion Williamson added 25 points, while Yves Missi recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.


Brooklyn lost its fifth straight game. Michael Porter Jr. scored 20 points but missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer. Egor Demin had 17 points, including five three-pointers.


Clippers 119, Wizards 105


Kawhi Leonard scored 33 points, and James Harden added 22 points with eight assists as the Los Angeles Clippers beat Washington in Inglewood, Calif. Rookie Yanic Konan Niederhauser contributed 16 points, and Jordan Miller had 11 points and 10 rebounds.


Los Angeles has won 11 of its last 13 games and eight of its past nine home contests. The Wizards lost their fourth consecutive game, falling to 0-2 on a four-game road trip. Kyshawn George led Washington with 23 points, and Khris Middleton added 17. Starting center Alex Sarr was ejected late in the first half after receiving two technical fouls.
