OG Anunoby scored seven of his team-high 25 points during a decisive run to end the third quarter, helping the New York Knicks pull away from the visiting Los Angeles Lakers for a 112-100 win Sunday night.

Anunoby also contributed eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals for the Knicks, who have now won six straight games after a 2-9 skid. Karl-Anthony Towns (11 points, 13 rebounds) and Jalen Brunson (12 points, 13 assists) each recorded double-doubles, while Landry Shamet added 23 points off the bench. Starter Josh Hart chipped in 20 points.

For the Lakers, NBA scoring leader Luka Doncic had 30 points and tied a season-high with 15 rebounds. LeBron James scored 22 points with five rebounds and six assists, Deandre Ayton added 13 points, and Rui Hachimura contributed 11 points off the bench. The Lakers fell to 4-3 on their season-long eight-game road trip.

The game featured 15 lead changes and six ties before the Knicks took control late in the third quarter. The Lakers led by as many as nine points in the first quarter and held a 33-27 lead at the end of the period. The Knicks briefly led 45-44 in the second, but Los Angeles closed the half on a 12-7 run to lead 56-52.

With 3:45 left in the third, Doncic’s 3-pointer gave the Lakers their final lead at 77-75. New York responded after four straight empty possessions, as Towns stole a Doncic pass, leading to Anunoby’s game-tying dunk. Anunoby then intercepted a Gabe Vincent pass and scored another dunk to put the Knicks ahead for good.

Hachimura missed a 3-pointer before Brunson set up Shamet for an alley-oop. James pulled the Lakers within 81-79, but Shamet, Brunson, and Anunoby all hit 3-pointers in the final 70 seconds to give New York a 90-82 lead.

The Lakers never got closer than four points in the fourth quarter. The Knicks extended their lead to double digits at 99-89 on Hart’s jumper with 5:57 remaining and maintained a comfortable margin the rest of the way.
