The NBA has fined Oklahoma City Thunder guard Luguentz Dort and New Orleans Pelicans guard Jeremiah Fears $25,000 each following an on-court altercation.
The incident happened at the end of Oklahoma City's 104-95 home victory over New Orleans on Tuesday night. Dort wrapped up Fears after the Pelicans rookie secured a game-ending rebound. Once time expired, Dort shoved Fears in the chest, and both players grabbed each other ’s jerseys "in an aggressive manner," the league said in a news release.
Dort, 26, recorded 12 points and eight rebounds in the game. He is averaging 8.8 points and 3.9 rebounds over 38 games this season, all starts, in his seventh year with the Thunder.
Fears, 19, scored seven points and had three steals in Tuesday’s loss. The 2025 first-round pick (seventh overall) is averaging 13.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 49 games, with 44 starts for the Pelicans.
