NBA: Trail Blazers dominate 4th, sweep back-to-back with Grizzlies

Jerami Grant’s six 3-pointers powered Portland’s late surge as the Trail Blazers outscored Memphis 34-19 in the fourth quarter to complete a 122-115 comeback victory. Donovan Clingan and Jrue Holiday also starred in the win, helping Portland sweep the back-to-back set.

Jerami Grant drained six 3-pointers en route to 29 points to help the Portland Trail Blazers rally and notch a 122-115 victory over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night to complete a sweep of a back-to-back set.


Jrue Holiday scored 21 points and Donovan Clingan added 20 points and 19 rebounds for Portland, which outscored the Grizzlies 34-19 in the final quarter. Caleb Love added 17 points off the bench for the Trail Blazers.


Olivier-Maxence Prosper established career bests of seven 3-pointers and 25 points and fellow backup Javon Small had 22 points for the Grizzlies, who lost for the eighth time in the past 10 games.


Ty Jerome scored 13 points and GG Jackson, Kyle Anderson and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope each added 11 for the Grizzlies.


Portland All-Star Deni Avdija (back) sat out for the ninth time in 13 games and Shaedon Sharpe (left calf) missed the game after being injured in Friday's 135-115 triumph. Scoot Henderson (left hamstring) and Robert Williams III (left knee) also missed the contest.


Scotty Pippen Jr. (left big toe), Cedric Coward (right shoulder) and Jaylen Wells (right shoulder) sat out for the Grizzlies.


Memphis shot 50% from the field and was 16 of 38 from 3-point range.


The Trail Blazers connected on 48.4% of their attempts and made 21 of 51 from behind the arc. Vit Krejci and Blake Wesley added 10 points apiece for Portland, which received four 3-pointers from Holiday.


Grant made two treys in 28 seconds to give Portland a 120-113 lead with 1:51 left after the club trailed by eight after three quarters.


Clingan added two free throws with 26.7 seconds remaining to make it a nine-point advantage as the Trail Blazers closed it out. Memphis shot just 27.3% (6 of 22) in the final stanza while Portland shot 59.1% (13 of 22).


Prosper scored the first five points of a 10-2 burst as the Grizzlies took an 87-79 advantage with 5:04 left in the third quarter. The Memphis lead was 96-88 entering the final stanza.


The Trail Blazers scored 20 of the first 31 points of the fourth quarter. Love scored the last five to give Portland a 108-107 edge with 5:59 left to play.


Grant scored 21 first-half points in a game that was tied at 63 at the break. Prosper had 15 in the half for the Grizzlies.
