PHILADELPHIA — Tyrese Maxey scored 36 points, including key plays late in regulation and at the end of overtime, to help the Philadelphia 76ers secure a 128-122 home win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
Maxey also contributed 10 assists for the Sixers. Joel Embiid posted a triple-double with 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Kelly Oubre Jr. added 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting.
For Houston, Kevin Durant led the offense with 36 points but also committed eight of the team’s 17 turnovers. Amen Thompson added 17 points and nine assists as the Rockets saw their three-game winning streak end.
Houston led 107-101 before Maxey scored 11 points in the final four minutes of regulation, tying the game at 115-115 with 40.1 seconds remaining.
Nuggets 107, Wizards 97
WASHINGTON — Peyton Watson scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds, leading the Denver Nuggets to a road win over the Washington Wizards.
Watson shot 10-of-16 from the floor, including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc, and recorded four blocks. Jamal Murray added 24 points, while Jonas Valanciunas returned from an 11-game absence to post 16 points and nine rebounds.
The Wizards were led by Kyshawn George with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. Rookie Tre Johnson contributed 19 points in a game that marked Washington’s eighth straight loss.
Mavericks 123, Warriors 115
DALLAS — Naji Marshall scored 30 points and dished out nine assists as the Dallas Mavericks extended their winning streak to four games with a victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Cooper Flagg posted a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Max Christie added 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Brandon Williams scored 19 off the bench.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 38 points, shooting 8-of-15 from deep. De’Anthony Melton added 22 points, but Golden State lost Jonathan Kuminga late in the second quarter due to left knee soreness.
Trail Blazers 127, Heat 110
PORTLAND — Shaedon Sharpe scored 24 of his 27 points in the second half, powering the Portland Trail Blazers to their fourth straight win over the Miami Heat.
Caleb Love scored 20 points off the bench, while Deni Avdija added 20 points before leaving early in the third quarter with back soreness. Avdija had recently returned from a three-game absence due to lower-back issues.
Bam Adebayo posted 32 points and 10 rebounds for Miami. Norman Powell scored 18 but went 0-for-7 from 3-point range. Simone Fontecchio added 17 points, while Andrew Wiggins scored 14.
Clippers 112, Lakers 104
INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points and Ivica Zubac added 18 points with 19 rebounds as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers.
James Harden had 18 points and 10 assists, while Jordan Miller scored 14 and John Collins added 13. The win improved the Clippers to 14-3 since Dec. 20.
Luka Dončić scored 32 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists for the Lakers. LeBron James added 23 points, while Rui Hachimura scored 12. The Lakers dropped to 3-6 since Jan. 7.
Spurs 126, Jazz 109
SALT LAKE CITY — De’Aaron Fox hit four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high 31 points as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Utah Jazz.
Victor Wembanyama contributed 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, who have won four of their last five games.
Jusuf Nurkić recorded a triple-double with 17 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds. Rookie Ace Bailey scored a career-high 25 points for Utah, but the Jazz have now lost five of their last six games.
Bulls 120, Timberwolves 115
MINNEAPOLIS — Coby White scored 22 points as the Chicago Bulls closed the game with a 9-0 run to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Josh Giddey returned from an 11-game absence to score 21 points. Jalen Smith added 17, while Matas Buzelis and Tre Jones contributed 12 each.
Julius Randle led Minnesota with 30 points. Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid scored 20 points each, but the Timberwolves dropped their fourth straight game.
Hornets 124, Magic 97
ORLANDO — Brandon Miller scored 20 points to lead eight players in double figures as the Charlotte Hornets dominated the Orlando Magic.
Charlotte shot 54.4% from the field and 47.2% from three-point range, leading by as many as 33 points.
Paolo Banchero scored 23 points and Desmond Bane added 21 for Orlando, but the Magic never regained the lead after going up early.
