Jimmy Snuggerud continued his hot streak with two goals as the St. Louis Blues secured their fifth consecutive road victory, defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 on Thursday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Snuggerud’s go-ahead goal came with 4:48 remaining in the third period, and Pavel Buchnevich added an empty-net goal in the final minute. Dylan Holloway assisted on both scores. Jordan Binnington stopped 31 shots, earning back-to-back wins for only the second time this season and the first time since October.

Snuggerud has tallied five goals and four assists in his last four games, showcasing his offensive consistency.

Carolina’s home-ice point streak ended at 12 games despite Mark Jankowski’s early goal. Rookie goalie Brandon Bussi, who made 14 saves, suffered consecutive losses for the first time, dropping his record to 25-5-1.

In the third period, Sebastian Aho had a short-handed scoring chance while the Blues were on their first power play, but Binnington made a key save to keep the game tied. Shortly after, the Blues maintained possession in the offensive zone, allowing Snuggerud to fire the winning shot from close range off a short pass from Holloway, who approached from behind the net.

Jankowski opened the scoring 8:38 into the first period with an unassisted goal, skating in from center ice and finding space along the right side to beat Binnington. It marked his first back-to-back goal games of the season. Despite dominating early with a 13-2 shot advantage, Carolina could not capitalize further in the opening period.

Snuggerud evened the score 3:53 into the second period. Moments later, the Blues nearly added another goal after a Carolina turnover, but Jack Finley’s attempt went wide.

The Blues previously defeated the Hurricanes 3-0 at home on Jan. 13, holding the Eastern Conference-leading team to just one goal in 120 minutes this season.
