Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno was placed on injured reserve Monday due to a lower-body injury. The team has not provided further details regarding the nature of the injury.
Foligno last saw action in the Wild’s 5-2 loss to the Utah Mammoth on Friday, logging 12:34 of ice time over 19 shifts and collecting four penalty minutes. He did not play in Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
In a corresponding move, the Wild claimed forward Robby Fabbri off waivers from the Blues. Fabbri has recorded one goal and three assists in 15 games with St. Louis this season, while also spending time with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
Foligno has been with Minnesota since the 2017-18 season. The alternate captain has tallied 218 points, including 97 goals and 121 assists, over 576 games with the Wild. Overall, he has accumulated 334 points (146 goals, 188 assists) in 15 NHL seasons between the Buffalo Sabres (2011-17) and Minnesota.
