MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly set to leave the club after a decade in charge, marking the end of one of the most successful managerial tenures in Premier League history, according to media reports. Former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is expected to take over the role.

Guardiola is said to be preparing to announce his departure shortly after Manchester City’s final match of the season against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium. His exit would conclude a campaign that already saw City secure both the League Cup and FA Cup titles.

The FA Cup final victory over Chelsea on Saturday reportedly gave Guardiola his 20th trophy with Manchester City, further strengthening his legacy at the club since joining in 2016.

Maresca, who left Chelsea four months ago, has long been considered a leading candidate to succeed Guardiola. The Spanish manager’s current contract with Manchester City runs until June 2027.

Guardiola declined to address speculation about his future following the FA Cup final. When asked about the reports by TNT Sports, he responded, “What rumours?” before ending the interview, adding, “Have a lovely evening.” -Reporting by Lori Ewing, editing by Pritha Sarkar/Reuters
