SOCCER: 'He has the DNA': Amad backs Carrick for Man Utd top job

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo praised interim manager Michael Carrick, saying he is the right man to lead the club permanently after guiding them to seven wins in 10 Premier League matches. Players, including Bryan Mbeumo, highlighted Carrick’s experience and strong connection with the squad as key to United’s push for a Champions League spot.

Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has won the backing of winger Amad Diallo, who believes he is the right man to lead the Premier League club on a permanent basis.

Since stepping in after Ruben Amorim’s dismissal in January, Carrick has guided Manchester United to seven wins in 10 matches, suffering just one defeat. Under the former United and England midfielder, the team looks well-positioned for a return to the Champions League next season, currently sitting third in the Premier League with seven games left in the campaign.

“From a personal view, he’s the right man. He has a lot of experience, he knows the club, and he has the DNA. His relationship with every player is very good,” Ivory Coast international Amad told reporters on Tuesday.

“Sometimes this kind of manager can bring the club where they belong. It’s not the players who decide, but my honest opinion is we’re really happy to have Michael Carrick as our manager.”

Fellow forward Bryan Mbeumo, who joined United from Brentford last year, also praised Carrick, saying the players had enjoyed a “good experience” under his leadership.

“He knows how to talk to us, and we’re going to try to take as much as we can from him. It’s been easier because he knows the place. It’s been great to work under him,” Mbeumo added.

Manchester United will next face Leeds United at Old Trafford on April 13.
