Mexican zoo's baby monkey bonds with plush companion

A baby patas monkey rejected by his inexperienced mother has bonded with a stuffed teddy bear at the Guadalajara Zoo. The infant, named Yuji, is being hand-reared by veterinarians who use the plush toy as a maternal substitute. The teddy provides essential warmth and security, allowing Yuji to cling and feed normally. Keepers plan to slowly wean him off the toy before reintegrating him with other patas monkeys.
