Alexa Ilacad to impersonate YFSF rival Ruffa Mae Quinto

Last week,  Alexa Ilacad once again impressed viewers and her fans with her performance on the reality singing competition, Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF).

The Filipino singer, host and actress transformed into the ‘Queen of Latin Pop,’ Thalía, performed the hit song Maria Mercedes, and secured another win.

Although this wasn’t the first time Thalía had been impersonated on the show — child actress Xia Vigor and actress-singer Denise Laurel had both previously taken on the same icon — Alexa still managed to make the performance uniquely her own.

Whether in Filipino, English, or Spanish, Alexa has proven time and again that she can confidently sing and perform in any language.

At the end of the latest episode, the show revealed the next set of celebrities the contestants will impersonate. Alexa was assigned to portray Filipino comedian-actress Rufa Mae Quinto, also known as Peachy, who also happens to be her contender in the contest. She will perform a Booba number (Do the Hustle) from Peachy’s previous film, Booba.

Alexa was both surprised and amused by the announcement. “Oh my God! Laro!” she exclaimed.

“Sa totoo lang ha, baka ito ang maging pinaka challenging para sa’yo,” said Gary Valenciano, one of the judges on YFSF.

In jest, Peachy was also encouraged to “steal” Alexa’s assigned icon, which was actually Peachy herself, since contestants are allowed to swap assigned artists once during the competition. 

However, the host, Filipino comedian-actor Vhong Navarro, clarified that Peachy was not allowed to portray herself.

Peachy, 47, was assigned to impersonate 80s American pop singer Tiffany. In a YouTube video, she performed Tiffany’s hit All This Time, sparking curiosity on whether it could earn her high scores or a win on her next performance.

Fans are now eagerly anticipating Alexa’s portrayal of Peachy, especially with her playful personality and recognizable trademark voice.
