Filipino actress Nadia Montenegro has fulfilled a longtime dream when she finally earned her high school diploma at age 54 through the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System (ALS).

The veteran actress has long been vocal about her desire to go back to school, complete her education, and eventually earn a diploma.

On Facebook, ALS posted a message along with her photo, saying, “Congratulations, Ms. Nadia Montenegro!” They also highlighted her achievement, noting that she completed high school through the program.

Montenegro, who began her showbiz career in the early 80s at the age of 11, said she plans to continue her studies with the goal of eventually completing a college degree.

In 2024, she completed weeks of training and graduated from the Basic Citizen Military Course (BCMC) Class 10-2024 at age 52.

Aside from her studies and training, Montenegro has also worked as a political affairs officer in the office of Senator and actor Robin Padilla before stepping down from the role to focus on other pursuits.

She is a mother of eight children and works as an author and business owner, managing her own catering business.

In showbiz, Montenegro is recognized for her roles in “Dyesebel” and “Ang Probinsyano.” This year she is also set to appear in the upcoming film “Bad Boy 3” alongside Robin Padilla.
