Alvin Aragon stands firm despite allegations, shares views on family, faith

StarStruck season one alum and Filipino actor Alvin Aragon has been trending on social media after criticizing the SexBomb Girls, drawing heightened attention to both his views and his marriage to former member Izzy Trazona.

In a recent interview, Aragon, 36, criticized the stage outfits worn by the SexBomb Girls and how the group influence their audience.
“Ano bang mali sa pangalan, SexBomb? Ano ba iyong sex, it is actually created by God. Iwas doon. Hindi pleasing iyon at hindi magandang impluwensya sa maraming tao, sa mga bata especially,” Aragon said.

Aragon also criticized the dance style, pointing out the difference between wholesome dancing and seductive movements, referring to his wife’s former group.

“Second, iyong damit. May damit kasing gagalangin ka pero may damit na kita iyong cleavage mo tsaka legs. Walang lalaking magnanasa kung maayos ka manamit,” he added.

He also addressed comparisons between him and other husbands of SexBomb Girls members who allowed their wives to participate in the group’s sold-out reunion concerts. He rejected the notion that if a husband allows his wife to perform, then he is  a ‘kind’ husband.

Aragon maintained that his stance was coming from his desire to protect his wife and uphold what he believes is a biblically guided marriage. He also denied accusations that he is a controlling husband.

“Hindi, may gobyerno kasi sa family. The husband must take the lead, and ang leader ng husband ang Panginoong Hesus,” he said.

Following his remarks, people revisited an old anniversary video of the couple, which quickly went viral. In the clip, Aragon recalled during the height of the 2020 pandemic when Izzy contracted COVID-19 while pregnant with their third daughter.

He admitted that when she first showed him her positive pregnancy test, he briefly questioned if he was the father, citing her work-related hotel stays at the time. 

He shared that he turned to prayer and devotion to process his doubts, saying he believed his wife would show guilt if there had been wrongdoing. His suspicions, he said, were erased when their daughter was born and she  resembled him.

Trazona, 43, appeared calm in the video and said, “Pinabayaan ko lang siya, bahala ka,” referring to Aragon.

The controversy also reopened discussions about family matters, particularly involving Izzy’s transgender daughter, Sofia. 

Aragon acknowledged the backlash his wife had faced over accusations that she did not fully accept her child’s gender identity. Citing biblical teachings, he said parenting includes warning a child about what he considers spiritually harmful.

Sofia has publicly shared that while her stepfather disagrees with her transition, her biological father supports her, recognizing her identity and providing for her needs.

Earlier this month, Sofia mentioned that a gap still exists between her and her mother. But, Izzy clarified this matter by posting what she described as their latest conversation, where Sofia and Izzy exchanged sweet and thoughtful conversation following the reunion concert.

 Her child was recognized as Andrei before she transitioned to Sofia. Izzy later shared a family photo with Alvin and three children and a faith-centered message.

“It’s not easy for the whole family but gumigising everyday by the strength that God gives. By grace na hindi naman namin deserve, but patuloy na kumakapit sa mga pangako ng Diyos. At patuloy na nakatingin sa ginawa ni Jesus to save sinners like us.”

She revealed that their family group chat is named “the imperfect family,” emphasizing imperfection, humility and reliance on God.

Meanwhile, Christian Gaza, the “Pambansang Marites,”  weighed in online, posting allegations against Aragon and releasing damaging information involving a former SexBomb member. In a follow-up post, Gaza said he would withhold specific details out of respect for a friend but continued to criticize the actor.
