Filipino celebrities Kristel Fulgar, Shaira Diaz share thoughts on love and married life

Celebrities Kristel Fulgar and Shaira Diaz recently met in South Korea to collaborate on a vlog for Kristel’s YouTube channel, KrisTells Vlogs. 

TV host and actress Shaira Diaz visited the country for a vacation with her husband, Filipino actor Edgar Allan “EA” Guzman. 

Meanwhile, Kristel Fulgar, a singer and former actress, has been living in Korea for quite some time. She decided to pursue her dream of living in Korea while also focusing on her career in content creation.

While on a train heading to their meeting place, Kristel, 31, shared that this was the first time they were meeting in person. Prior to this, she and Shaira, 30, had only  messaged each other on an app. 

Kristel also mentioned that she had worked with Shaira’s husband, EA, in the past. She admitted how really excited she was about the vlog, but at the same time also had feelings of shyness, as she felt that she and Shaira shared many similarities.

Before filming, the two enjoyed a Korean meal together and then headed to a cozy café to record the vlog. Their conversation was natural and effortless. The focus of the vlog was their married life journeys, with both women reflecting on their experiences from being girlfriends to becoming wives.

Fans and followers who have been keeping up with their stories know how much both women are in happy and healthy relationships that some fans call them as their  “relationship goals.” Shaira married her long-time boyfriend of 12 years, while Kristel married her Korean boyfriend Ha Su-Hyuk.

Beyond sharing the positive qualities of their partners, they proudly expressed that they stayed “pure” in their relationships — Kristel before marriage, and Shaira during her 12-year relationship prior to tying the knot.

“Sa akin goal ko talaga siya, gift ko sa husband ko,” Kristel said. “Ganyan din. Maaga kasi ako namulat na, alam mo ang pinaka magandang regalo mo sa asawa mo ay iyong purity mo.” Shaira shared.

They both stated that their perspective was influenced by their parents’ guidance as well as their own personal choice.

Kristel and Shaira emphasized the importance of choosing the right man before committing to a relationship. 

They both agree that a good partner should have a 'date to marry’ mindset, is mature enough to commit and lead in the relationship, empathic, and has high emotional intelligence.

Self-control was another take in their conversation. Both women believe that self-control gains respect and allows love to be expressed in its truest form. 

Kristel and Shaira are proud of this quality. Many of their fans admire this, considering Shaira and EA's  patience in waiting for the right time  as the epitome of an ideal relationship.

They also touched on the topic of pregnancy. Both agreed that, for now, they prefer to focus on their roles as wives rather than starting a family. Kristel shared that she still has much to learn and experience in her married life. 

Compared to Shaira, who was in a previous relationship before meeting her husband, Kristel feels she is still at an early stage in terms of deeply understanding relationships.

Kristel's husband  was also her first boyfriend.  They just got married last year in May. Shaira echoed a similar sentiment, expressing her desire to wait before having children until she feels fully prepared—physically and emotionally.

When Kristel asked about having similar personality traits with their partners, Shaira admitted that she and EA are quite different. She is a homebody, while the actor is outgoing. 

Shaira admits that difference in personalities can lead to occasional clashes, but she added that compromise and exerting extra effort are essential for maintaining a happy and healthy relationship.

Kristel, on the other hand, said that she and her husband have more similarities—they are both introverts, and with a 10-year age gap, her husband’s maturity makes their relationship smoother.

Throughout their conversation, they found themselves in agreement on many points, exchanging insights on love, patience, and commitment.
