Filipino actor Gil Cuerva broke his silence on the viral video controversy linked to his name.
Last night, March 5, Gil posted an official statement on Instagram addressing the controversy directly. In his statement, Gil Cuerva said:
“Hey everyone. I just want to briefly address the issue that had circulated online over the past few days. This will be the only time I speak about it, and I will not be commenting any further after this.
The video being shared online was recorded without my knowledge or consent during a private moment. The use of a hidden camera and the distribution of that recording are serious violations of my privacy and constitute a crime.”
The Kapuso actor, 30, also expressed gratitude to his friends and family for their support, as well as to those who spoke out in his defense. He concluded his post by saying.
“I’m okay, I’m fine, and life goes on.”
Before Gil’s statement, his ex-girlfriend, actress Lexi Gonzales, defended him by calling out those spreading the alleged video and urging respect and dignity.
Shortly after the Kapuso actor released his statement, former Hashtags member and actor Nikko Natividad shared a post on social media with a black background and the simple message, “I’m sorry.”
He did not explain what the apology was for, but online users speculated that it could be connected to the ongoing video scandal involving several actors.
Zeus Collins, Nikko’s former co-member, also left a supportive comment on the post that read, “Nandito lang ako palagi.”
Meanwhile, another actor reportedly included in the so-called “The Big Four,” Aaron Villaflor, denied the viral video circulating online involving him.
The 35-year old actor and politician clarified that the claims about him being part of a video scandal were false and said the allegations were part of efforts to damage his reputation during the time he was campaigning.
"Sabi ko, ‘Go! Ipakita ninyo sa akin. E, lahat nang ipinapakita nila, from my Vivamax projects."
Actor Ron Angeles, 27, who was also rumored to be involved, has not issued an official statement about the matter. However, in his most recent Facebook post, he shared an old topless photo with the caption, “Sanay na akong mahusgahan,” accompanied by broken-hearted and sad emojis.
The controversy began circulating on X toward the end of February after reports claimed that someone was allegedly selling separate private videos of the four actors on Telegram for a low price. The videos were said to have been recorded without the actors’ consent.
Despite the sensitive nature of the situation, Gil Cuerva chose to address the issue publicly to set the record straight about the reports linking him to the controversy.
The actor also turned off the comment section of his post, so there were no direct reactions from his followers on social media after he bravely spoke out.
