Filipino singer Gwyn Dorado continues to strengthen her presence in the Korean music industry, this time as the singer in an original soundtrack (OST) of the Korean series ‘My Royal Nemesis.’

On Saturday, May 23, she was announced as one of the artists contributing to the drama’s official soundtrack, where she performed the song “Letting Go of My Heart.” The music video also features selected scenes from the series, including appearances by lead stars Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun.

Th 21-year-old singer shared the news on her Instagram, calling the opportunity a “dream come true.” She said that when she first heard she would be singing a K-drama OST, she felt excited, nervous, and everything in between. Dorado added that the demo stayed in her mind wherever she went, and described the song as something that “hurts but also heals at the same time.”

She also expressed gratitude to the composer, lyricist, and producing director, thanking them for trusting her with the track. She further thanked AO and Music Farm for helping her understand the song more deeply and bring its emotion to life. Dorado ended her message with appreciation, writing, “I’m forever grateful @sbsdrama.official.”

Following the release, Korean viewers shared their admiration for her vocals, with some calling her the “Queen of OSTs” and saying she “never disappoints.” One viewer said they kept listening to the song repeatedly and even looked up the lyrics to sing along, describing it as “so good” and saying it carries a deep emotion only Dorado can express.

Filipino fans also expressed pride, saying her OST made them watch the K-drama, admiring how far she has come since her earlier breakthroughs in music competitions.

Now based in South Korea, Dorado has been steadily making strides in the Korean music industry. She was named runner-up in “Sing Again 4”  in January 2026,  further cementing her rising career after first gaining attention years earlier.

Her musical journey began at a young age. Largely self-taught, she learned guitar by watching online videos and discovered music through the internet. With no formal vocal training, she developed her singing through videoke and later learned to play the keyboard around the age of five or six.

She previously became a finalist on “Asia’s Got Talent Season 1” in 2015 when she was just 10 years old. That same year, she also performed “Lupang Hinirang,” the Philippine national anthem, at the sixth and final State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the late President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

In 2022, Dorado debuted in the Philippines with the digital single “Tulala,” and later made her South Korean debut with the digital single “Way” released on September 23, 2025.
