LOS ANGELES – Hollywood paid tribute to the late Catherine O’Hara on Sunday, awarding her the Actor Award for her role in The Studio just weeks after her passing.

Seth Rogen, the writer and star of The Studio, accepted the award for Best Female Actor in a Television Comedy on O’Hara’s behalf at the red-carpet ceremony in Los Angeles. O’Hara portrayed a film producer in the show, which offers a satirical look at the movie industry.

Rogen shared that O’Hara often sent polite emails suggesting rewrites for her scenes, and her input always improved the show.

“It showed you can be a genius and kind at the same time, and one does not have to come at the expense of the other,” Rogen said during the ceremony, which was streamed live on Netflix.

He also praised her generosity, saying she had the ability “to be generous and kind and gracious while never ever minimizing her own talents.”

“She knew she could destroy, and she wanted to destroy on set,” Rogen added, recalling her fearless performance style.

O’Hara, celebrated for films such as Home Alone and the TV series Schitt’s Creek, passed away at age 71 on January 30 due to a pulmonary embolism.

The Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, are presented by the SAG-AFTRA actors union. The winners are closely watched, as actors form the largest voting group for the Academy Awards.

The nominees for the top Actor Award, Best Movie Cast, include Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, and Sinners.
