Comedian-actress Kiray Celis shared updates on her married life and baby plans with her non-showbiz husband, Stephan Estopia.

It has been just a few months since the couple tied the knot last December. On Monday, March 1, the couple attended a Purple Hearts thanksgiving party and launching of a Purple Nutrimeal product.

In a recent interview, Kiray admitted that her husband is eager to start a family, but she stated, “hindi naman ako nagmamadali. Relax, kakakasal lang namin. Wait lang.”

The comedian-actress and businesswoman also acknowledged the pressures that come with being newlyweds.

“Pero, ayun. The fact na pini-pressure na kami ngayon. Kakakasal lang namin. Ayun iyong lagi kong sinasabi.”

Despite the external pressure, Kiray noted her husband’s excitement about starting a family. “Marami na siyang naisip. Bago kami matulog, iyong asawa ko talaga sobrang excited, magsi-search na iyan sa Google kung ano iyong mga unique names, mga pinagsamang pangalan namin.”

Being the breadwinner of her family and “workaholic,” Kiray admitted the idea of having her own child hasn’t fully sunk in yet. “Mom? Siguro hindi ko pa masabi.” She explained that although she has long been a mother figure to her siblings and nieces and nephews, the feeling of having her own child is completely different.

For now, the couple is focused on their business. “Work pa rin. Busy pa rin sa business. Kasi kaka-thanksgiving. Nakaka-one year lang. Ipon. Ipon.”

Kiray emphasized that their online business has greatly improved their lives and supports her family, despite critics who belittle her current work. She said,

“Yuck! online seller ka lang. . pero gusto kong sabihin na doon nga umayos ang buhay ko. Hindi siya online seller lang. Hindi siya luck, hindi siya yuck at hindi siya nakakahiya.”

Kiray also stated that returning to showbiz is not a priority. “Hindi pa po siguro ngayon. Hindi pa po talaga kaya ng oras. And, mas maganda kasi kapag tutok din.”

While she remains grateful to showbiz for giving her recognition, it is her online business that has truly allowed her to support her family and build a stable life.

Kiray began her career at the age of three when she joined the Muntíng Miss U contest on Magandang Tanghali Bayan. She later became a cast member of the Sunday children’s gag show Goin’ Bulilit, remaining on the program until her GB graduation in 2007.

Kiray later appeared in popular television series such as Mara Clara, Luv U and Growing Up. She is also known for her comedic role in the movie I Love You To Death, where she starred alongside Filipino actor and television host Enchong Dee.
