Actor and television host Maverick “Mavy” Legaspi became one of the top trending topics on X last Saturday, February 28, during his live hosting stint at the Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab 2.0.

As the finale aired, viewers quickly shared their reactions online, with clips circulating across social media platforms.

Some comments said Mavy appeared nervous and still needs improvement in hosting. Others even mentioned names of celebrities they believe have stronger potential for the role.

Meanwhile, his fans and supporters defended him, insisting he delivered his lines well and handled the program properly. Overall, public reaction was mixed, with a wide range of opinions circulating online.

After the Big Night, Mavy broke his silence and explained what happened behind the scenes. “We experienced the worst microphone delay and could literally hear our voices echo in the venue, which made it difficult to talk,” he shared, referring to the technical issues during the live show.

He also apologized to viewers who noticed the problem during the livestream. “We did our best, even if it was really difficult because of the sound delay.”

Mavy, 25 later responded to the viral videos of him with humor. “OMG, cringe nga! Anyway, thank you for supporting PBB Collab 2.0. It was a very successful night. Congrats Caprice & Lella! Love you all! #cringe.”

Support quickly poured in from fellow celebrities and co-hosts, with Luis Manzano and Gabby Garcia leaving heart emojis in the comments.

His girlfriend, former PBB housemate and actress Ashley Ortega, wrote, “I love you, hon,” while his mother and actress, Carmina Villaroel, reassured him with, “Always proud of you. We love you.”

His twin sister and actress, Cassy, also shared words of encouragement: “always learning & always growing.”

Mavy highlighted the Big Night’s memorable moments by sharing behind-the-scenes photos. In the caption, "Signed off with gratitude. Certified "learned the hard way."

His posts featured group photos with the Ultimate 8 housemates, solo snaps with big winners Lella and Caprice, candid moments with co-hosts and all housemates from the latest season, and photos with former PBB housemates who attended and performed.

Mavy Legaspi is the son of celebrity couple Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi. His first television appearance, along with Cassy and their parents, was in a commercial for an ice cream brand in 2007, when they were six years old.
