Former 2NE1 member and Korean actress Sandara Park has publicly denied claims made by fellow ex-member Park Bom regarding illegal drug use.

Yesterday, March 4, Sandara took to Instagram to issue a brief statement: “I have never used drugs. I wish her well.” Sandara wrote in both Korean and English.

The response came after Bom, 41, posted a handwritten note on March 3, which she later deleted. But the screenshots of Bom’s deleted post circulated widely online. The handwritten note was written originally in Korean.

In the letter, Bom addressed her hesitation to revisit past controversies but felt compelled to share her perspective.

“It is not a drug. I am an ADD patient, something called Attention Deficit Disorder,” Bom wrote, clarifying the purpose of her treatment.

“Sandara Park was caught for drug abuse, and to cover that up, they turned the medication into something labeled as a drug scandal involving me, “ the translation read as stated on several news sites. Bom did not specify who was behind this alleged cover-up.

The letter revisited the 2010 incident when a package containing Adderall, a controlled substance in South Korea, was shipped to Bom from the United States. Prosecutors later suspended the case after reviewing medical records and prescriptions confirming the drug was prescribed for treatment.

Despite this, public scrutiny resurfaced in 2014 and continued to impact her reputation. The discord between the former members is evident on social media, where Sandara Park has unfollowed Park Bom but continues to follow former 2NE1 co-members CL and Minzy. Bom only follows South Korean actor Lee Min-ho.

2NE1 was a South Korean girl group that debuted in May 2009  under YG Entertainment, the same company that launched Blackpink. 2NE1's  first single was Fire. One of their most popular songs, I Don't Care, won the 2009 Song of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. They disbanded in 2016.

Bom has been largely inactive since August 2025 due to a health-focused hiatus. She and her bandmates rejoined as 2NE1 in 2022 surprising fans with a Coachella reunion. The girl group embarked on their 15th Anniversary "Welcome Back" World Tour in 2024 to 2025.

Sandara or Dara to her fans, remains beloved in the Philippines, where she started her showbiz career after joining a talent show. She is known locally as the  “Pambansang Krung-Krung,” which roughly translates to "the country's crazy person."
