Senator Bam Aquino has filed a resolution congratulating and commending P-pop group BINI for making history as the first Filipino act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

In Resolution No. 370, Aquino praised BINI for bringing pride and honor to the country and for showcasing Filipino talent and artistry on the global stage during their performances on April 10 and 17, 2026. He noted that Coachella remains one of the world’s most prestigious and highest-grossing music festivals.

Known as “the nation's girl group,” BINI is composed of Aiah, CoIet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena.

“BINI’s 10-song setlist, featuring a selection of their most popular songs, including Shagidi, Pantropiko, Salamin-Salamin, and Karera, highlighted Filipino artistry on the global stage,” Aquino said.

“BINI’s performance showcased Filipino pride through the use of traditional elements, including the salakot and tropical-inspired attire, as well as a fusion of contemporary and traditional styles in their costumes, music, and choreography,” he added.

Aquino said the group’s achievement comes at a time when Bini's Coachella performance serves as a positive moment amid national challenges, describing it as a milestone worth celebrating.

He hopes that BINI’s breakthrough would help grow P-pop further and give Filipino artists more opportunities to gain global recognition.

“BINI’s achievement serves as an inspiration to young Filipinos, demonstrating that Filipino talent can thrive and gain recognition on the world stage through passion, discipline, and excellence,” Aquino said.

He added that BINI’s Coachella performance highlights the rising potential of the Philippine creative economy, showing how Filipino talent can attract global demand, generate economic opportunities, and strengthen the country’s cultural presence internationally.

Aquino also said the development could help boost support for creative industries as drivers of innovation, employment, and inclusive growth.

The senator noted in earlier interviews that his two daughters, Rory and Coco, are fans of BINI, whose followers are called “Blooms.” He also previously watched the group perform at the SexBomb Girls concert at the Araneta Coliseum in February.

Aquino, a known supporter of local talent, has consistently highlighted Filipino artists during campaign activities in 2022 and 2025, and again championing Filipino music during the People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert.
