After seven years of offering late-night laughs, Filipino comedians Boobay and Tekla are stepping out of the studio for the latest season of The Boobay and Tekla Show, “TBATS on the Go.”

The show, celebrating its eighth anniversary this year, introduces an exciting new concept where the Kapuso comedic duo takes on a mobile comedy experience riding their custom van, the Laff Bus, while bringing laughter directly to the audience.

In  a press conference yesterday, Boobay, 39, and Tekla, 44 explained how the idea for the Laff bus came about. “Dati kasi nasa isang lugar lang kami. So, mas maganda na dalhin natin sa labas, kumbaga hindi lang sa loob, labas naman. Para mas marami kaming madi-discover kapag sa labas, mas unlimited iyong mga ideas,” Tekla said.

Boobay added, “Saka iyong galaw natin mas freely na.”

The new format aims to give the show a fresh vibe, making it more interactive for both the hosts and their audience. “Kapag sa studio lang naka-fix lang na ganon. So, may time na baka magsawa iyong mga tao. So, this time, maraming flavor itong TBATS,” Tekla said.

Boobay agreed, saying, “Tsaka ang excitement pa na tatanungin nung mga ka-TBATS namin, ‘ay, saan kaya next na pupunta itong dalawang ito?’”

The Laff Bus itself also came as a surprise to both comedians. Tekla recalled, “At tsaka, iyong cute doon iyong bus. Sobrang na-amaze ako. So, nakikinita ko na ang mga mangyayari.”

Boobay, on the other hand, jokingly said, “Sobrang na-touch tayo na meron talagang bus para sa aming dalawa. Pero iniisip namin baka tricycle.”

Tekla playfully commented, “Mukha kasing mga konduktor,” while Boobay laughed and added, “mga driver.”

Tekla even mentioned how sometimes Boobay gets so caught up that she disappears, only to be found “searching” for more people to meet.

Starting March 1, the comedy duo will bring their brand of humor to various locations such as barangay fiestas, malls, amusement parks, and university campuses. They promise to deliver the same energy and laughter that fans love about them.

The audience can expect exciting prizes and giveaways, as Boobay and Tekla ask random questions and reward those who get the right answer.

Boobay and Tekla also revealed that their first guest for the new season is  Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

"Iyong isang maganda doon kasi walang kaarte-arte iyong mga inimbetahan namin na sasamahan tayo outside. I’m sure nakita nyo naman kanina, iyong isang kasama namin this coming Sunday, March 1, the one and only ‘Yorme’ of the City of Manila," Boobay said.

"Nakita ninyo tinanggal niya parehas iyong wig namin, hindi pa nasagot diyan kung saan iyong mas mabango at mas mabahong wig," the comedian said teasingly. “Malalaman ninyo iyan.”
