 WHO chief arrives in Spain for arrival of Hantavirus-stricken cruise ship

GENEVA - The head of the World Health Organization arrived in Spain on Saturday where he will join senior government officials in Tenerife to oversee the safe disembarkation of passengers on board the cruise ship where an outbreak of Hantavirus started.


WHO Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebrey said on X that he was in contact with the ship's captain and a WHO colleague who is on board who said that, at this stage, there are no additional people on board showing symptoms of Hantavirus.
