Name withheld no more: PRC names topnotcher in 2026 Physicians Licensure Exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) revealed the topnotcher of the March 2026 Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE): Erwin Kevin Angcual Parchaso of Lyceum Northwestern University-Dagupan City.

Earlier this month, when the initial results were released, the PRC withheld the identity of the top-ranking individual.

However, the PRC, in its updated announcement, has not yet revealed the rating of Parchaso.

A total of 1,954 persons, out of 2,781 examineees, successfully passed the March 2026 PLE.

'A WELL-DESERVED HONOR'

The topnotcher's alma mater, Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU), extended its congratulations to Parchaso on its website and on social media.

The university posted this announcement: "Lyceum-Northwestern University Dr. Francisco Q. Duque College of Medicine proudly celebrates Dr. Erwin Ken A. Parchaso for achieving Top 1 in the March 2026 Physicians Licensure Examination."

"This exceptional accomplishment reflects outstanding excellence, dedication, and the strong foundation of medical education within the Lycean community," it said. "A proud and well-deserved honor for Dr. Parchaso and for L-NU—rising above and excelling alongside leading institutions across the country."
