President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. joined Muslim communities in the Philippines and around the world in observing Eid’l Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).

In a report of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the President urged Filipinos to to carry the spirit of Eid’l Adha through acts of generosity, compassion, and inclusivity.

“May this sacred observance inspire deeper reflection and renew our commitment to the values that bind us together as one people and one nation. Let us carry the spirit of Eid’l Adha into our daily lives and offer our own acts of generosity in building a more compassionate and inclusive Bagong Pilipinas,” the President said.

The President emphasized that the occasion carries a timeless message for people of all faiths: “that sacrifice, when offered with sincerity and love, becomes a source of profound strength.”

He also noted that anything surrendered for a just and noble cause is never lost. Instead, such sacrifices are transformed into blessings that enrich homes, strengthen communities, and uplift humanity.

Marcos earlier declared May 27 as a regular non-working holiday in the Philippines in observance of Eid’l Adha.

The Feast of Sacrifice is one of the holiest celebrations in Islam. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to obey the will of God.
