Emergency crews searched through rubble and removed injured residents on stretchers in Tehran on Monday (March 16) after an airstrike hit a building in the Iranian capital.
Rescue teams worked atop collapsed buildings as damaged vehicles lined the streets and stuffed toys lay scattered on the ground.
Resident Lina Shabestari said the strike appeared to target an old Martyrs Foundation building but hit surrounding homes instead, killing people and leaving many trapped. She said her home was damaged and all the windows were shattered.
The Israeli military said on Monday it was carrying out air strikes on Tehran, Shiraz and Tabriz against what it described as the infrastructure of the "Iranian terror regime."
