The White House posted an image of Britain's King Charles and U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday (April 28) with the caption "TWO KINGS."
The photo was taken on the second day of the British monarch's state visit to the US.
Trump and his allies have repeatedly objected to the "No Kings" protests against his administration, saying that he is not a king, and this week have accused critics of the president of fanning flames of anger that have led to attempts on his life.
The press office social media account of California governor Gavin Newsom, a vehement opponent of Trump, replied to the post by referring to Trump as "King of Bullshit."
