The global organization One Young World has named Filipina lawyer Atty. Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo as one of the 26 representatives from around the world to its Indigenous Advisory Circle for 2025 to 2026

The Advisory Circle was established to ensure Indigenous voices are involved in shaping summits, programs, and partnerships in ways that respect culture and community.

Atty. Lamentillo is a columnist, author, lawyer and a proud Karay-a from the Philippines.

She is also the founder of NightOwl AI,  a company incubated under LSE (London School of Economics) Generate, harnessing cutting-edge machine learning to preserve endangered, low-resource languages.

Her work focuses on preserving endangered languages and closing digital gaps by bridging governments and technologies.

Through NightOwl AI, she has supported the digitization of millions of words from underrepresented languages, helping communities protect their linguistic heritage while expanding access to education and digital tools.

She previously served as Undersecretary at the Philippine Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and as a leader in the Build Build Build Program of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

She studied at the University of the Philippines, Harvard, the London School of Economics, and the University of Oxford.

She believes that everyone deserves a digital voice, and through NightOwl AI, she is making that a reality for Indigenous communities.

Alongside Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, the Indigenous Advisory Circle members are Alexandra Biron, Belyndar M. Rikimani-Sina, Benson Saulo, Brayden Sonny White, Emma Oliver, Isaiah Bernard, Jennifer Jerome, Joleen “Jo” Ngoriakl, Lance Copegog, Larissa Crawford, Maricelma Fialho, Nelson Bugembe, Robert Mills-Lamptey, Venancio Coñuepan Mesías, Winnie Kiap CBE, Yodhikson Marvelous Bang, and Zahra Al Hilaly.

She joins the Inaugural members of One Young World’s Indigenous Advisory Circle, which include Alexis Alfaro, Diwigdi Valiente, Kananish McKenzie, Lisa Rapley, Lidia Oxi Chuy, Noor Azizah, Prince Ahumuza Ignatius, and Vanessa Turnbull-Roberts.
