Devils Forward Arseny Gritsyuk to have season-ending surgery

New Jersey Devils rookie Arseny Gritsyuk will miss the rest of the season after undergoing season-ending surgery, ending his campaign with 31 points in 66 games.

New Jersey Devils rookie Arseny Gritsyuk will undergo season-ending surgery, coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed Thursday.


The 25-year-old Russian forward, who missed the past four games with an upper-body injury, will now be shut down for the remainder of the season.


Gritsyuk, a fifth-round pick in 2019, recorded 31 points this season, including 13 goals and 18 assists, across 66 games.


The Devils (38-34-2, 78 points) enter Thursday night’s home game against the Washington Capitals 11 points behind the final wild-card spot.
