Ivan Toney achieved a major milestone on Wednesday, equaling Al-Ahli's record for the most goals scored in a single Saudi Pro League season. The English striker netted his 27th goal of the campaign during a 1-1 draw with Al-Fayha, securing his spot as the league's top scorer.

Toney's goal came from a well-placed touch on an Enzo Meo shot, which helped him match the club record of 27 goals set by Syrian forward Omar Al Somah in the 2015-2016 season. This achievement further solidified Toney’s position atop the scoring charts, where he sits one goal ahead of Al-Qadsiah’s Julian Quinones and four ahead of Al-Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo.

Since joining Al-Ahli in August 2024, the 30-year-old striker has made an impressive impact in his first two seasons. In his debut campaign, Toney scored 23 goals, bringing his total league tally for the Saudi Pro League to 50.

With only eight goals separating him from the Saudi Pro League’s all-time record of 35 goals set by Ronaldo last season, Toney will be eyeing the record in the remaining fixtures of the season.
