Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards has been listed as questionable for Monday’s road playoff game against the Denver Nuggets due to maintenance on his right knee injury.
Edwards missed 11 of the Timberwolves’ final 14 games of the regular season because of right knee inflammation. However, he played 38 minutes in Game 1 of the team’s first-round playoff series on Saturday.
In the opening game, a 116-105 loss to the Nuggets, Edwards recorded 22 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch commented that Edwards appeared "rusty" during the game, and Edwards himself admitted to struggling with his performance.
"I haven’t played in like a month, month and a half, so I was a little fatigued," Edwards said, adding that he also contributed three blocked shots during the game.
Edwards, who was named the All-Star Game MVP in February, averaged 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists across 61 games (60 starts) this season. His only game off the bench came on March 30 against the Dallas Mavericks, after missing six consecutive games due to his knee issue.
In his six seasons with Minnesota, Edwards has averaged 24.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 442 games (423 starts). He has been named an All-Star in each of the past four seasons.
