Gui Santos turned a scramble under the hoop into a go-ahead layup with 19.4 seconds remaining as the Golden State Warriors rallied from 17 points down in the second half to stun the Memphis Grizzlies 114-113 on Monday.

In a game where both teams were missing multiple key players, the Warriors trailed 108-95 with 8:23 left. They then held Memphis to just five points the rest of the way, mounting a furious comeback to secure their second win in three games.

A driving layup by Moses Moody cut the deficit to 113-112 with two minutes remaining, setting the stage for a dramatic finish that only Santos could finish. After missing three consecutive shots that could have given them the lead, the Warriors finally took control when Al Horford missed from point-blank range with 25.9 seconds left.

Horford grabbed his own rebound but missed again, then retrieved the ball once more and passed to Santos, whose layup through a sea of defenders put Golden State ahead. Memphis had two chances to end a two-game losing streak, but Jahmai Mashack failed to connect from close range. Cam Spencer grabbed an offensive rebound but, in a rushed attempt to score before the final horn, turned the ball over to Horford, who ran out the clock.

Pat Spencer led the Warriors with 17 points and seven assists. Santos, Horford, and Brandin Podziemski each scored 16 points, while Moses Moody added 15, Draymond Green 14, and De’Anthony Melton 10. Despite 23 turnovers that turned into 23 Grizzlies points, Golden State held on for the win. Horford also led the team with nine rebounds and contributed six assists, including the game-winning play.

For Memphis, Ty Jerome led all scorers with 19 points and seven assists. Jahmai Mashack added a career-high 17 points, while Taylor Hendricks and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in 15 points each off the bench. Scotty Pippen Jr. scored 11, and Jaylen Wells added 10. Hendricks also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.

The Grizzlies played without Ja Morant, Santi Aldama, and Zach Edey following the Jaren Jackson Jr. trade to Utah, while the Warriors were without injured stars Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler III as they await the debut of Kristaps Porzingis.
