Duke University point guard Caleb Foster is returning for his senior season, the program confirmed on social media Wednesday.
Foster, standing at 6-foot-5, averaged 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 24.8 minutes per game across 33 games (30 starts) during the 2025-2026 season. The Blue Devils, who finished with a 35-3 record, clinched both the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular-season title with a 17-1 record and the ACC Tournament crown. Foster was also efficient from beyond the arc, shooting 39.8% (39 of 98) from 3-point range.
Unfortunately, his season was marred by an injury. Foster fractured his right foot in the regular-season finale against North Carolina on March 7 and missed the ACC Tournament. Although he sat out Duke’s first two games in the NCAA Tournament, he returned for the Round of 16, where the Blue Devils triumphed over St. John’s, before playing in the Elite Eight loss to UConn.
Over his first three seasons with Duke, Foster has averaged 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 20.8 minutes per game across 98 appearances, including 52 starts.
A native of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Foster will return to Durham for his senior year, where he will be joined by fellow point guard Cayden Boozer, a rising sophomore. They will also welcome five-star recruit Deron Rippey Jr., and, in a recent addition, Wisconsin transfer John Blackwell, who is also navigating the NBA draft process.
