This year's Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, made one thing clear: AI is stepping out of the cloud and into everyday life.
Withings is betting big on longevity with the Body Scan 2, a $600 smart scale that tracks over 60 biomarkers to flag early risks like high blood pressure and prediabetes—catching problems while they’re still fixable.
With embedded electrodes, a retractable handle, and seamless phone syncing, it promises better ageing through better data.
“I think that is really good," said Doris Poon, a 72-year-old CES attendee from Maryland who says good health is important to her. "I know so many people don't go to physician and say, 'I am fine. What is fine? How you define fine, right?'"
Glyde debuted the world’s first smart hair clipper, the AI Stylist, bringing “GPS-level guidance” to DIY haircuts.
"It uses a band that wraps around your head, the clippers themselves, and a mobile app to create a perfect haircut in less than 15 minutes," said Glyde spokesperson Catherine Asberger.
Asberger told Reuters the Glyde AI Stylist maps your head, guides your hand in real time, and auto-adjusts blades to prevent mistakes.
On the emotional support side of AI, Lepro's AMI is positioning itself not as an assistant, but an AI soulmate.
Marketed as a way to ease loneliness among flexible workers, AMI is a physical desk companion with a curved OLED display that tracks your gaze to feel present.
"Just get one near to your computer and then you can release, relax, speak to with he or her and just get some fun and maybe release your stress," said Lepro spokesperson Lucas Lu. "That's what we wanted to design it for."
Robotics also took a leap toward the real world.
EngineAI Robotics unveiled the lightweight PM01 and full-size humanoid T800, focusing on practical deployment over lab demos.
The company says PM01 is nearing scaled use in transportation services, retail assistance, and inspections.
Creativity wasn’t left behind.
The Vinabot Talking AI Picture Frame turns any photo into a conversational AI video—letting you talk to a celebrity, character, or even a loved one from a single image and script.
And in a glimpse of automated domestic life, Dobot showed its collaborative robot arms, or cobots, casually washing dishes—an everyday task that underscored how AI-powered automation is quietly moving from factories into homes.
