Asia Rose Simpson of Quezon City was crowned Miss World Philippines 2026 during the grand coronation night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, February 3.
She won the title over 23 other delegates and will represent the Philippines at Miss World 2026.
Simpson,18 stood out during the competition, winning several major challenges.
She excelled in the Talent Challenge, received the Beauty with a Purpose award, and shared the Best in Swimsuit title with Valerie West of Ifugao during the coronation night.
During the final question-and-answer portion, Simpson was asked to share her views on how social media affects society. In response, she highlighted both positive and negative aspects of online platforms.
“Mental health issues are on the rise. One in seven children worldwide experience mental health disorders, and the World Health Organization relays that 80 percent of adolescents don’t meet the recommended levels of activity,” she said.
She also shared her SED initiative, a program promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of young people through sports and dance, addressing growing concerns about youth mental health and inactivity.
“Social media, while it can have so many benefīts, it helps us all promote businesses and organizations that help us succeed. However, I think it has also been used as a crutch for our creativity and our social skills. So let’s use social media responsibly,” she added. Her composed and insightful answers impressed the judges and helped secure her victory.
Simpson was crowned by Miss World Philippines 2024 Krishnah Gravidez with reigning Miss World titleholder Suchata "Opal" Chuangsri of Thailand at the close of the competition.
The coronation night also featured the crowning of runners‑up: Anne Carres de Mesa of Manila was named First Princess, while Gabrielle Fuentes Galapia of Pampanga was declared Second Princess.
Following her win, Simpson shared a reflective message on her social media, encouraging unity, respect, and positivity within the pageant community.
“There is something so powerful about love, respect, and effective communication,” she wrote, emphasizing that these values go beyond competition.
She also acknowledged the support she received from the Ifugao camp and the Davao Region camp, describing them as “power houses in pageantry” whose encouragement extended beyond the stage. Simpson noted that their interactions, candidates talking, laughing, and celebrating one another, demonstrated the strength of teamwork and understanding.
Simpson also addressed the natural desire to win, “Sure everyone wants to win, who doesn’t? We all try our best!” She urged the public to look beyond rivalry and negativity, encouraging followers to celebrate others’ successes.
“This is the power of unity that is in the blood of our people,” she said, emphasizing how Filipino pride and love for pageantry can bring communities together rather than divide them.
She concluded her message with a heartfelt appeal: “Please STOP the bashing! Please STOP hate! Please let us UNITE together. For our nation, our people, and for lifting our flag high for all the world to see! Let’s DO this together!”
