Actors and former PBB housemates JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith became a trending topic on X following the announcement of their upcoming romance film, "Almost Us."

The public interest increased after Project 8 Projects officially announced the title and showing date of the first solo lead film of JM and Fyang. The film was previously introduced under its working title, In Real Life (IRL), as seen in early public photos.

Produced by Regal Entertainment Inc. and co-produced by Project 8 Projects, the announcement was accompanied by the release of a photo teaser.

Almost Us Cast

Sofia Smith,19,  popularly known as Fyang, is an actress and social media personality who gained widespread recognition even before entering show business due to her massive following on platforms especially on TikTok.

Her popularity soared further after joining Pinoy Big Brother, where she was declared as the Big Winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11 in 2024.

Following her win, Fyang secured multiple endorsements and film projects, including My Love Will Make You Disappear and the MMFF entry Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins. She also starred alongside JM in their first series together, titled Ghosting.

John Mark Daniel Ibarra, better known as JM, is an actor who also rose to fame through Pinoy Big Brother. It was inside the PBB house where JM and Fyang first met and where their on-screen chemistry began to shine. Their natural connection eventually led to their official pairing as a love team known as “JMFyang.”

The 25-year old actor placed fifth in the competition show.

Although JM did not make it to the Big 4 in PBB, his popularity on the reality show became a stepping stone that helped launch his career in the entertainment industry.

With their growing fan base and proven chemistry, JM and Fyang are set to bring another romantic story to the big screen. Almost Us is a romance film directed by Dan Villegas and is scheduled to open in cinemas on May 6.

Regal Entertainment has also confirmed that the rest of the cast will be announced soon.
