Mark Ruffalo and Benicio del Toro lead star-studded arrivals at the 31st Critics Choice Awards, as top films and TV shows vie for top honors.

Actors Mark Ruffalo and Benicio del Toro were spotted sharing a friendly hug at the 31st Critics Choice Awards red carpet on Sunday (January 4).
Ruffalo is nominated for best actor in a drama series for his performance in crime drama “Task”, while del Toro is in the running for best supporting actor for portraying a martial arts instructor and rebel in the political thriller “One Battle After Another”.
Other stars walking the red carpet included Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley who star as William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway in the period drama “Hamnet”. Garnering eleven nominations, “Hamnet” is directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao who was also among the arrivals.
Stars of Norwegian family drama “Sentimental Value” Stellan Skarsgard and Renate Reinsve were also spotted. The two actors, who play a father-daughter duo in the film, are nominated for best supporting actor and best lead actress respectively.
TV stars arriving at the ceremony included “Abbott Elementary” lead Quinta Brunson, “Hacks” star Hannah Einbinder, and “The Pitt” actor Noah Wyle.
Ryan Coogler’s period vampire horror “Sinners” is a major contender this year with seventeen nominations, going head-to-head with Paul Thomas Anderson’s political thriller “One Battle After Another” which received fourteen nominations.
In television, “Adolescence” leads the pack with six nominations, followed by the comedy series “Nobody Wants This” with five.
