Megastar Sharon Cuneta shows off her senior card: ‘Aging is a privilege’

The Megastar Sharon Cuneta is on Cloud 9. She just became a senior and she also received her senior citizen card.

The Filipino singer and actress posted a photo of her  senior card on Instagram.

“Heto na siya! (Of course, I removed some other info, but here’s my senior card!! Yahooo!” she captioned. “Aging, my friends, is a privilege!” she wrote in all caps. “Thank You, Lord!”

In the senior card, her full name, gender, and date of birth can be seen along with her ID photo. The Megastar wears a formal top and sports her pixie haircut. 

Many of her followers left positive comments and compliments. Almost everyone said that the 60-year-old actress looks beautiful and fresh, and that she doesn’t look like a senior at all because she looks so young for her age. Fans even praised her “face card” and said “proof that age is just a number.”

Some fans remarked that Sharon's youthful appearance makes her look like she’s  in her 20s to 40s. Her daughter, KC Concepcion, also commented, “Grabe! Level up na!”

Fellow actor Carmi Martin wrote, “Join the club. Tara watch na tayo movies on Mondays,” inviting her to go watch movies for free.

Being a senior citizen in the Philippines has its privileges. Seniors are entitled to free movie screenings on certain days like Mondays. They also enjoy a mandatory 20% discount and VAT exemption on various products and services, including dining out, medicine and medical services. Some malls even offer free parking.

Sharon celebrated her birthday in advance on the noontime show ASAP, where she performed wearing a pink gown. She was later joined by her co-actors, Queen of Philippine Teleseryes Judy Ann Santos, Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, Daytime Drama Queen Julia Montes, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and her loving husband, Senator Kiko Pangilinan for a special birthday surprise for the Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas star. Sharon Cuneta’s actual birthday is January 6.

As for the Megastar, it’s not just discounts and government benefits that come with being a senior citizen, but also the privilege of staying youthful, healthy, and maintaining a stable and successful career in the entertainment industry.

Throughout her career, the Megastar has won numerous Best Actress awards, according to her profile on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB). These include the FAP Awards and FAMAS Award for Best Actress in the film Madrasta (1997), the FAP Award for Best Actress for Sa Hirap at Ginhawa (1985), and the FAMAS Award for Best Actress for the film Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin (1985).

In her latest post, she announced that her new Taepei vlog is now up on her Sharon Cuneta Network YouTube channel.
