Lady Gaga made a surprise return during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, joining Bad Bunny during his halftime performance that quickly became one of the main event’s highlights.
Dressed in a striking baby blue flamenco-inspired dress, a custom-made creation by Luar, American singer performed a salsa version of her 2024 track Die With a Smile, dancing alongside the Puerto Rican rapper.
Her appearance came midway through the performance, shortly after one of the show’s most talked-about segments — a real couple exchanging vows live on stage.
The transition into the 39-year old singer's vibrant salsa version added another celebratory layer to a halftime show.
The following day, Lady Gaga expressed her gratitude on Instagram, thanking Bad Bunny for inviting her to be part of what she described as a powerful and meaningful moment.
“Thank you, Benito for including me in this powerful, important, and meaningful performance,” she wrote.
“I am so humbled to be a part of this moment. It’s all the more special because it was with you and your beautiful heart and music.” She expressed how honored she felt to share the stage with him, praising his artistry and generosity.
Lady Gaga also extended her gratitude to fellow artist Ricky Martin and the whole cast, the creative team, and designers Chloe and Chenelle and Luar for bringing her striking look to life.
This collaboration carried greater impact, given Lady Gaga’s own history with Super Bowl.
She headlined the halftime show in 2017, performing her biggest hits including Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born this Way, and Million Reasons, one of the most memorable performances in the event’s history.
In recent weeks, she and Bad Bunny have also crossed paths during GRAMMYS awards. Lady Gaga was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys for her song Mayhem, but the honor ultimately went to Bad Bunny for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
Cameras caught her visibly emotional as he accepted the award, and she later made it clear that she was thrilled for him, applauding both his voice and the cultural weight of his work.
Lady Gaga also took home the Best Pop Vocal Album award at the 2026 Grammys for Mayhem.
Footage of the salsa performance spread quickly across social media, with fans praising her graceful movement and thoughtful singing to the genre. Many also noted how she allowed Bad Bunny to remain the centerpiece of the show.
For Lady Gaga, the historic moment marked both a return to a familiar stage and a celebration of another artist’s milestone.
